I told you all a couple weeks ago that I had some exciting news. The lovely Dancing Runner already figured it out and if you follow me on IG, you probably did too!
I signed up for my first triathlon. I did one as a relay 2 years ago with Joe and my best friend (you can read about it here), but I just did the running part, so not much out of the ordinary for me.
I am starting with just a sprint tri, but the swim is long…1/2 mile. Followed by 13 miles on the bike and a 3.1 mile run. I have been biking a ton since my most recent running injury, but the swimming part has always freaked me out.
I just started my swim training and definitely have a long way to go. Especially since all of my training will be in a pool and I will be doing an open water swim in a lake for the race.
Anyway, I am super excited about this and it actually forces me to cross train pretty strictly since I’m also still in marathon training as well.
The tri is on September 21, and I will definitely keep you posted on all of the training progress!
Any tips for tri training? I could use all the help I can get!
