Rocks & Trails

It was a busy weekend here in the Rockies. We started with some carb loading on Friday night at Ernie’s Pizza. Pretty close to NYC style!IMG_3104[1]

Saturday we were up bright and early to head into Clear Creek Canyon. We had a new climbing spot in mind and wanted to get there before it got busy.IMG_3107[1]

We climbed two different routes for about four hours right next to this beautiful river! IMG_3108[1]

After, we grabbed a beer at a local brewery in Golden and then headed back to Denver. It was a beautiful weekend, so no doors required in our jeep!IMG_3118[1]

The annual Blues & Brews festival was going on, so we popped over for a little while. IMG_3112[1]

Then, we grabbed some dinner and called it a night.IMG_3116[1]

Sunday was a run day. It was a cut back week, so we had a 7 mile trail run on the schedule. We went to one of our favorites – Green Mountain and did a big loop around…the hills were killer! IMG_3122[1]

I took some advice from Janae and we decided to use the freezing cold river as our ice bath. It was amazing and we are totally doing this after all of our long runs from now on!IMG_3120[1]IMG_3121[1]

PS….this bloody mary…ohhhhh yea……IMG_3124[1]

How was your weekend? Any long runs?
