out in the backcountry

Joe and I decided to stay in for Valentine’s and cook dinner together. We whipped up something new – lemon glazed chicken with broccoli.IMG_1910[1]

He also surprised me with flowers and cookies! Such a sweetie šŸ™‚IMG_1914[1]

After dinner we got to work trying to make plans for the 3 day weekend. It’s a crazy busy ski weekend in CO, so we didn’t really want to deal with the traffic and lift lines at the resorts.

Instead, we booked a tiny cabin in Estes Park and planned some backcountry routes in Rocky Mountain National Park.DSCN0611IMG_1919[1]IMG_1918[1]

The avalanche conditions are especially bad right now, so we made sure to take all the proper precautions and stay in safe terrain. The weather was beautiful and warm and we had a great time riding all 3 days!DSCN0579 DSCN0580 DSCN0592 DSCN0581 DSCN0596 DSCN0602 DSCN0569
