Some of you may have noticed that I have had a couple little runs on my schedule. Well, I am easing back in!!!!
I ran once with my Girls on the Run at practice, then once with them at the race. The practice still felt a bit achy, but then 3 weeks later the race felt fine!
So, I decided to try again on Tuesday and see how it felt. I had to take the day off from work to get my dead car to a mechanic, so I went out at the beautiful hour of 10am planning on somewhere around 3 miles and at a pretty relaxed 9:30-10/per mile pace.
The next thing I knew – 4 miles had gone by. I watched my pace, never dipping below 9:10 or so because when I did – one spot on my back became a little achy again.
BUT!!! I think I ran with a HUGE smile on my face the whole time!! It has been a LONG 4 months! I am not fully ready to jump in full force and I am still icing and stretching like a maniac. I am also going to do more strength training and be better about cross training as well.
This was not a fun 4 months and I don’t want to go through it again. I am by no means 100% yet, but I would say I am about 80% and that is such an improvement 🙂 🙂
