a non-running weekend

This was the first weekend in a while that I didn’t run…kinda felt weird. I am getting use to the fact that I am just not going to be running for a little while. The pain is definitely subsided to just a nag which is  a huge improvement!

So…what did I do to fill the time that I usually spend running/biking/climbing on the weekend you ask? Let’s take a look!

Friday night was pretty low-key. We stayed in with shrimp queadillas and a movie. Joe grew up surfing so this one was his pick 🙂 IMG_0689[1]

It was actually a lot better than I expected! I love when movies are based on a true story!

We also have a house guest who came Friday evening.IMG_0686[1] IMG_0687[1]

This little lady is hanging out with me for the next week, which is awesome because Joe will be in Minneapolis for work all week 🙂

Saturday we took care of some odds and ends and I hit up the yoga studio across the street. I moved here 9 months ago and had never been in for a class. So, I used my free week card…. IMG_0690[1] IMG_0691[1]

The class was great – it felt good to finally do something physical. I have been in so much pain the last week, the most I have done is ab work everyday.

In the afternoon we walked over to Denver Beer Co. for their anniversary block party. Great beer, a beautiful day, food trucks galore and friends!IMG_0699[1]

What more could you ask for? How about a free t-shirt! They were throwing them off the roof and I caught one!IMG_0695[1]

In the evening we went to our friend Tony’s to grill out. No pictures = blogger fail.

Sunday was another low-key day. Did a little reading, a little cleaning, a little dog walking, got my new plan book for the year and took Joe to the airport. IMG_0704[1]

What did you do this weekend?

  1. Well it sure sounds like you made the best out of your injury situation. Love your cowboy boots. Simply adorable!

  2. I am glad you are starting to feel better. Isn’t it so weird to not run when you normally do? My rest day yesterday felt so odd until I got past the time I normally work out.

  3. Sounds like you definitely kept busy over the weekend, which i find is the best thing you can do when running/workingout is at a temporary hault! I have never eaten from a food truck… and boy do I want to! Just not many around me–have to head downtown.
This weekend I did some running, biking, and packing! it flew by and left me exhausted! I move out of my apartment tomorrow and into my new one on saturday! Busy week ahead!
Yoga sounds wonderful! I hope it didn’t bother your hip/back!
    Have a great Monday!

    • I told the teacher before class what was going on with my injury, so I took it easy on poses that seemed to cause strain. Hard to do because I really want to push it and participate. I think I am having a lot of muscle tightness around the injury, so I am hoping more yoga will help things relax a bit!

  4. Looks like a lovely wknd! Glad you got some yoga in 🙂

  5. Low key weekends are the best. I could use one myself 🙂

  6. I hope your foot starts to feel better! Those shrimp quesadillas look good. I’ve never made them with shrimp before!

  7. What a cute house guest! Looks like a fun weekend!

    • It was! Making the most of my current sedentary life style 😉
SO fun having a dog around! Joe and I can’t wait to get one….although ours will be about 120 pounds bigger- haha.
