WIAW + workouts #40

Yesterday was hard. I think we are all feeling the heaviness of what happened at the Boston Marathon. BUT- reading all of your posts and comments on mine was really showed me how amazing people are and how amazing this community of runners is. My favorite quote that was all around social media yesterday:      IMG_2652[1]

I wore blue and yellow to work and the second I walked in the door to my apartment, I threw on my NYC Marathon shirt and laced up my Adidas Boston II’s. I hit the pavement for 2.62 silent miles in tribute to everyone effected by this horrible tragedy.                                                                                     IMG_2655[1]IMG_2653[1]

Feeling so grateful to be out there, and nodding to other runners I passed brought me a sense of peace I hadn’t felt since before I heard the terrible news. THIS IS WHY I RUN.

The rest of my runs this week will absolutely be dedicated to Boston. Now, on to What I Ate Wednesday hosted by the lovely Jenn at Peas and Crayons 🙂 . Keep in mind, this cold has thrown off my appetite a wee bit and I totally failed on taking snack pictures yesterday.                                                           Peas and Crayons

Breakfast: banana chobani                                                     IMG_2654[1]

Snacks: cheese & crackers, peanuts, apple, popsicle

  1. I run to relieve stress and to feel powerful. Running is my personal challenge, love it!

  2. Isn’t the banana chobani flavor delicious??!! I promise it’s even better w/ some coconut flour =)

  3. Yum! Love the way that soup looks!

    • It was so good! I literally just dumped crab and canned corn into tomato soup and it was great! so warm and comforting on a cold snowy day (and when I’m sick!)

  4. I went straight home for a run too. That’s the way to go- run for those who are dealing with pain and suffering.

  5. As I sit here freezing from our much cooler temps today, the soup sounds so good! I run for many reasons really. For those that can’t, for my sanity, for dealing with stress, for health, to set a good example for my son and because I love it!

  6. Love that quote! 🙂
I’m still so sad about what happened. I’ll be running in two Boston Runs this weekend to show support.

ps – I love the banana chobani! The pineapple one is really good too!
