The new Job

One of my January goals was to get a job here in Denver and as many of you know from yesterday’s post – I did!Ā

I’ve been looking for the last month since we moved, and been on a couple interviews, but nothing much came of anything. I was hoping to use my health coaching in a new arena, but that was proving to be very difficult. So, I started to think about going back into education. I use to teach high school special ed in NYC and have considered going back to it a few times over the last few years.

Well, I guess now is the time. I interviewed for a position in a charter school that’s k-8. I’m basically pushing into different classes and grades to work with the kids that have disabilities and need my help. Here’s what the school looks like!

Anyway, the first day went really well! Everyone was super nice and helpful and the kids were adorable šŸ™‚ I still intend to do the health coaching on the side, but I can just do it occasionally as opposed to needing it as my main source of income. And, having health insurance is definitely a big plus.

In other news, Joe and I are going to dinner with a new couple friend tonight so I will be sure to take lots of pictures and totally weird them out. haha!

Happy Thursday friends!

Is your current job what you want to be doing? Is it what you went to school for?

  4. Congrats šŸ™‚ this looks like a great job for you! What kinds of things do you do as a health coach?

  5. Ahhh that sounds great! Glad to hear you can still do health coaching on the side too! šŸ™‚ And health insurance is a definite must so happy to hear you have it!! Have fun tonight girl!

  6. Congratulations on the new job! Sounds like a rewarding one too and you can still do what your most passionate about on the side. Plus health insurance, score! I was a teacher before becoming a stay at home mom and loved working with kids. The political aspect of it, not so much… I definitely didn’t go to school to be a stay at home mom and it is the toughest job I’ve had yet! Although, the best too!
