2 days, 3 mountains

Good Monday morning everyone! How was your weekend?

As usual, Joe and I packed as much as possible into ours. Early Saturday morning we met a bunch of people from his office at Vail for a day of skiing and snowboarding.                                                                                         IMG_2154 IMG_2152 IMG_2153 IMG_2156

Joe and I had never been to Vail, so his boss tried to give us a tour and cover as much of the mountain as possible. If you have ever been to Vail, you know it’s HUGE, so we ended up having to cross a lot of catwalks. This is not the easiest thing to do on a snowboard, so we were pretty exhausted at the end of the day.

When we got off the mountain, we ended up going back to Joe’s boss’ mountain house to hang out/watch football/and drink wine with he and his wife. Then we all took the dogs on a snowy walk before heading into town for pizza.       IMG_2159

It was a looooooong, but very fun day. We had planned another snowshoe adventure for Sunday, but decided to head to Keystone and snowboard some more.  DSCN0023

We did about 4 runs, but just were not happy with the conditions. It was icy and crowded and we just weren’t feeling it. So, we hopped in the car and drove the quick 7 miles to A-Basin, hoping for better snow. And, we found it! Things were way better there and we had a great time into the afternoon.              DSCN0027 IMG_2162DSCN0026 DSCN0028

When we got off the mountain, we enjoyed a bloody mary on the deck before heading back to Denver.                                                                      IMG_2166 IMG_2167It was a lazy Sunday night on the couch with sandwiches from Jersey Mikes. My legs are crazy tired today, so I’m not sure if I am going to run or just take a rest day and maybe do some yoga. We shall see!

How was your weekend? What did you do?

  1. What a great weekend. I’d like to do more fun activities like you guys on the weekends. It makes your Sunday much more enjoyable because you get to relax after an eventful Saturday. 🙂

  2. Awesome weekend 🙂 you guys should seriously come to Aspen sometime!! I’d love to meet up for a snowshoe or a day of skiing. I found a really cool trail while I was running along a creek that would make a nice snowshoe for sure. Its pricey here but I may be able to get cheaper lift tickets through the club

    • We would love to come to Aspen- I’ve only been once and only because I got stuck driving through. I think we may plan a weekend there later in the season. We are dying to go to Crested Butte and Telluride too! I will keep you posted for sure 🙂

  3. Sounds like an amazing wknd! Any wknd w/ pizza involved is right up my alley 🙂 Yoga sounds fabulous as well!! Hope you have a great week!

    • It was great and I think you had pizza too 😉 We are still on the search to find a pizza place that lives up to our NY standards, but I think we are getting closer- haha.

  4. I love the slopes! Glad you had a great weekend!

  5. You two may be the most active couple I know!! Every time you recap your weekend I can’t help but smile. You two really are living the life & enjoying every second =)

  6. What a fun weekend! I’ve never been skiing or snowboarding before, but would love to try it! 🙂

    • You should definitely give it a try if you get the chance. I started as a skier when I was little, but switched to snowboarding somewhere in high school and never went back! 🙂
