Recap of Mom’s visit

My mom got into Denver last Thursday and we immediately got to work shopping,  baking, and catching up. We made a TON of cookies and candy to give away as gifts.

We made a trip to Ikea and had some fun on the giant carts. And, my mom got us a fantastic new chair for Christmas!                                                                       IMG_2001[1]IMG_2051[1]

We spent a couple days on skiing and snowboarding at A Basin and Breckenridge. IMG_2009[1]IMG_2026[1]

After riding, we shopped around Keystone’s village and grabbed lunch at the Dillon Dam Brewery – it was so good a week ago when Joe and I went, we wanted to take my mom back!

We shopped in downtown Denver and considered going ice skating, but it was mobbed with kids and getting super cold, so we passed.

Christmas pickle!!

There was of course the traditional Italian 7 fish Dinner on Christmas eve, and lots of present opening.                                                                                                IMG_2025[1]

Both my mom and Joe’s mom got me onesie pajamas – apparently I have mentioned that I would like to live in a full body fleece outfit on more than one occasion 🙂

My mom left early Christmas morning to fly back to Michigan, and Joe and I headed to Beaver Creek to snowboard for the day.

It was super fun and definitely a nontraditional way to spend Christmas!

How was your Christmas? Do you go to the same place every year or create new traditions each Christmas?

  2. haha pickle ornament…nice! Those goodies look delicious!! I didn’t do too much baking this year but I did make some puppy chow for my coworkers! My dad came up to visit from Houston so I spent Christmas with him and my mom…it was a good Christmas! We also got snow which is rare for Texas!

  3. All of your baked goods look amazing! I always love giving (and getting haha) homemade sweets!

  4. Ah, I am so glad you had such a wonderful holiday with your mom!! You both are absolutely beautiful.

I’m pretty jealous of your onesies though!! They look ridiculously comfortable.

  5. OMG you are freaking adorable in your onesie…only you could pull that off and look that cute! LOL Sounds like an awesome fit..that’s awesome your mom is so active! BTW…I see chocolate and it’s on pretzels..I want (those are a BIG weakness of mine!). 😉

those pretzels were AMAZING- I’m kinda bummed now that we gave them all away! haha. We actually melted rolo’s on top of the pretzel, so there’s chocolate and caramel in there 🙂
