A snowy run + MY MOM COMES TODAY!!

Denver got hit with lots of snow early yesterday morning, but that was not going to stop me from getting in the 7 miles I had planned. I waited for a break in the snow coming down, strapped on my yaktrax and headed out!                       IMG_1992[1]

It was freezing and blowing- my toes and chin eventually went numb, but I felt pretty good otherwise. Even with the trax, I still had to take it slow- there were a few really icy spots.

Now…on to more exciting news…It’s Thursday; and that means at 10am this morning, I get to pick up my mom at Denver Airport!! Yaaaaaaaaaaay! It’s actually not been that long since I’ve seen her – Joe and I passed through Michigan on the way from NYC to Colorado. But, I am super excited to have her here.

Since I still don’t have a full time job here, I have plenty of time to hang out with the mom-ster. We have lots of Christmas cookie baking to do, possible skiing at Breckenridge, shopping and exploring Denver…and who knows what else! I will recap all the adventures on Monday.

On another mom note- a Christmas present from her came to my door Tuesday and I cannot begin to explain how excited I am about this- I have wanted one of these for years!                                                                                                         IMG_1980[1]

I was allowed to open it early since she and I are going to be baking up a storm while she is here 🙂 THANKS MOM!!!!! LOVE YOU!!!!

  1. I love my KitchenAid! We got it for a wedding gift a few years ago. LOL, during Thanksgiving when I was at my parents, I baked my dad cookies and they don’t have one so I had to mix by hand and I was a baby and complained the whole time, haha! You’re going to love it! So happy for you that you get to spend some time with Mama and even better than you don’t have work to get in the way! Great job on getting that run in despite being snowy and blustery cold…you rock! Enjoy the time with your mom! 🙂
