WorkoutsΒ – I’m not going to list the days out like I usually do since things are still up in the air. I am running more often, but shorter distances (still getting acclimated to the altitude here) . My apartment building has a gym, so I want to start working with weights again. And, I need to find a new yoga studio….but need to find a job first πŸ˜‰

One really cool thing to tell you all about- Joe and I have informally joined a running club! Runners meet every Tuesday at 6:30 at the Denver Beer Company and go for a 5k run around the neighborhood.

Since this brewery happens to be right across the street, we decided to check out the happenings! There were waaay more people than I expected and all levels of runners. As the miles went on, the pack thinned out, but Joe and I managed to stay at the front, which is pretty good considering I still cannot breathe at this altitude! I didn’t snap any pics on the run, but I will get some next week.

The run ends back at the brewery where we get beer and free salad and pizza! Score! Unfortunately Joe and I are pizza snobs having lived in NYC for 8 years, and this wasn’t very good at all. However – we are on a quest to find the perfect pizza in Colorado!!

sorry for the dark picture…I was trying to be discreet…I was trying to make new friends and some people may think it’s weird to take pictures of your food. lol

We had a really good time meeting new people and socializing with other runners in the community. This is definitely something I want to try to make it to every week πŸ™‚

Do you belong to a running club?

  1. I do belong to a running club – and.love.it!
We get together Tuesday evenings for hill/speework (or whatever majority wants), and again Wednesday. I can only make the Tuesday nights currently, because I joined a local gym for a 6-week program and the workouts are M/W/F. There’s a lot of running during the workouts, so I feel like I’m getting enough. I do miss weight lifting though, which I was doing “on my own” at my work gym. Not enough time in the day for all the workouts I want to do! Can’t wait to see some photo’s of your new ‘hood!

    • I definitely know how you feel about there not being enough time for everything. I really miss spinning and hot yoga now that I don’t have those memberships out here. But, I will find them eventually! We are going to an outdoor event in the hood tonight, so expect some pics tomorrow! πŸ™‚

  2. “Pizza snobs” lololol! Sounds like a fun club..beer and running..what you guys like! πŸ™‚ that Mexican dish looks muy bueno! Hope you get acclimated to the altitude soon. Jealous u have a gym in your building! πŸ˜‰

I love that you two are adapting so well to Denver already… minus the whole pizza dilemma. What a bummer =( Joshua and I are the exact same way whenever we get Philly Cheese steaks outside of Phillly. No where else compares!
