I came home from work Friday to find these beauties waiting for me!
My last new pair before the marathon. These are the ones that are going to carry me through the 5 boroughs of NYC for 26.2 miles in less than a month! They are so bright! haha.
Saturday morning, Joe and I got up early and headed to Staten Island to get my car. By the time we got up to New Paltz, it was totally gray and had started to rain a little bit. There was no way we were going to be able to jump, so decided to just head to the rocks.
We didn’t have a lot of time before sunset, so just a did a couple quick climbs. This was only rated a 5.8, but it was insanely hard! And I had a complete freak-out half way up because the world’s biggest spider was just chillin’ in a web right where I wanted to put my hand! I could not get past that guy!
Anyway, we cleaned things up, headed to the campsite and set up our tent, then went into town to get some dinner at Bacchus. We noticed a HUGE sale at Rock n’ Snow, so popped in to look at climbing shoes. And, walked out with these!!
So pretty and feel amazing!
The next morning we woke up to a solid sky of clouds again….no jumping again 😦 Oh well…back to the rocks! But first, we grabbed sandwiches to take with us. “Goat Gone Bananas” for me. Lettuce, got cheese, banana peppers, red peppers and hummus. YUM!
We set up in a really cool spot where we were able to do a couple really cool different climbs. The weather was cool and crisp and the rocks were empty, so we had a really great time playing around for a couple hours.
I had some of these as a snack while climbing….what?! Coconut?! How long have these been around?! They were pretty good, but definitely not taking the place of PB or Pretzel M&M’s.
After climbing, we grabbed a quick bite at Bacchus again before heading back to the city. So…no jumping this weekend, but we will head up again next weekend. It was a great weekend of fall climbing!
How was your weekend?
