Fashion Night Out

Have you heard of Fashion Night Out? Do they do one where you live? Here’s a description from this years webpage:

Fashion’s Night Out is an unprecedented global initiative created in 2009 to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy during the recession, and put the fun back in shopping! In the United States, the program is a collaboration between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York.

This is it’s 4th year and I have never joined in the festivities, so I figured it was time to get in on the fun! Also, I had an invite through work to one of the bigger events, so definitely wanted to check that out.

I grabbed my favorite girls and set out on the streets of NYC.

I obviously wore the smallest heels

We started with the Cela launch which was at Sea Thai Restaurant. There’s one in Brooklyn that I’ve eaten at, but I had never been to the one in the meatpacking district. Cool venue.

The invitation promised hors d’oeuvres, but there were none! Boo! There was a lot of free champagne though!

and hand/arm massages!

ohhhhhhhhhh yeaaaaaaaaaaaa

When we got too cool for the party, we popped over to a nearby pub for a beer and weird chips.

Then Jari got old and tired, so she went home and Stella and I continued on to the upper east side to meet up with Jen!

yep- arm bruise is still there

More beers were consumed until we all realized that it was Thursday and we totally had to work in the morning. Oops.

All in all, Fashion Night Out was a lot of fun, but consisted of very little fashion and very much drinking. haha! Cheers!

Does your city do Fashion Night Out? Do you like events at swanky bars or are you more of a beer in a pub type person?

  1. Not where I live in NJ but as you know…the city is just a quick train ride in (we catch the train at the New Brunswick station). I’d be in small heels too, lol. I don’t drink but my hubs does but I like the atmosphere of a pub more than a swanky bar/lounge. 🙂 looks like you had fun!

  2. LOVE FNO!!!!! So jealous that you got to go in NYC!!! 🙂
