A big, fat, Greek wedding :)

Last Sunday, our friends, Achillaes and Afrodite (yes, those are their real names), tied the knot in Philadelphia.

Both Bride and Groom looked stunning!

Plus, Joe and I managed to get out of our running clothes for a few hours

TLC was there getting footage for a follow-up show (Afrodite was on a recent episode of “Say Yes to the Dress”.)

The reception was in a HUGE ballroom.

The food was delicious…and I was starving! We hadn’t eaten much since the 16 mile run that morning and by the time we got to the cocktail hour, most of the food was gone! ahhhhh! feed me!

Sea bass with potatoes and green beans

Lot’s of dancing occurred

We got to catch up with a bunch of good friends

And the after-party at Afrodite’s family’s was a lot of craziness. There may or may not have been some amateur pole dancing happening. This may or may not have resulted in a large bruise on my left arm….haha…ah good times.

We got to bed pretty late, so the next day we slept in, checked out of the hotel, and headed back to Joe’s parents for a bit. Then I slept on the floor watching House Hunters for the next 3 hours. I am too old to party as hard as I tried. haha.

It was so much fun and made me even more excited for the next wedding I’m going to (in Ireland!!!).

Do you like to dance at weddings or not so much? Have you ever been to a Greek wedding?

  1. I used to watch Say Yes to the Dress all the time! All of those wedding shows actually…Bridezillas was unfortunately on the tube too…luckily, I am out of that phase, haha. I can’t dance to save my life and I’ve only been to 2 weddings (my sister’s last year and my cousin’s this year) and I think the hubby and I only slowed danced. I did dance (or something like it) at our wedding though. I haven’t been to a Greek wedding but I hear they are a blast…my friend at work is dating someone who is Greek and has been to a couple with him and if/when they tie the knot…they will have a traditional Greek wedding. It sounds like you had a lot of fun and at least explaining how you got the bruise could be interesting. 😉 Glad you finally got some eats, too! Happy Friday! 🙂

  2. aww looks like such a nice wedding! Her dress is gorgeous! That’s awesome she was on the show… I have yet to watch it, but my friend is obsessed haha

  3. Never been to a Greek wedding but that one looked gorg! I LOVE to dance anytime so I always look forward to weddings so I can get my boogie on 🙂
