A typical day at the lake

I thought I would give you guys a little more of an idea of what goes on when I’m up in Maine.

Most mornings start with running, bike riding, or just sleeping in.

My sister makes incredible breakfasts

Then the swim-suits go on and everyone ends up down by the water.

A lot of this takes place:

When the water is nice and calm, you can find me doing this

Delicious beers and snacks are consumed

My dad is usually working on some sort of house project.

The kids help out 🙂

Amazing dinners are made

assemble ingredients into pizza cooker

cook over hot embers in fire-pit

mmm- eat, and repeat!

And after ruthlessly competitive games of Uno and Sorry, my sister throws things like this in front of us

Holy giant whoopie pie!!

Basically, it’s a lot of just relaxing and enjoying the company of family.

Are you more of a lake or ocean person?

D you workout when you’re on vacation or just consider it a break and time for recovery?

  1. I grew up going to Lake Michigan, where my family has a house. While that is technically a lake, it looks like an ocean. So it’s a toss up for me because when I lived up in Boston I loved the Cape. It looks so relaxing and fun up there in Maine!!! 🙂

    • My aunt has a cottage on Lake Michigan too! My dad moved to Boston when I was really young, so I have a love for the cape too 🙂 However, when it comes to getting in the water, the ocean freaks me out a bit- I have an irrational fear of sharks!

  2. I want to go there…just saying. So glad you had a nice time. 🙂 Seeing your posts are making my husband and I look for vacation spots, lol.

  3. I can completely understand why you didn’t want vacation to end. Looks like such a fun time! Oh and please tell your sister I’ll pay for her flight to Kuwait if she’ll make me breakfasts like that everyday 🙂

I usually try to workout almost everyday on vacation. To me, it starts the day off on the right foot & I feel amazing afterwards.

    • I will let her know you have a request for waffles and french toast 🙂 However, be warned, she comes with her 4 kids! haha.
I’m with you on the working out thing. But, often my normal workouts get switched up depending where I am. Biking, swimming, hiking, rock climbing, etc..
