Home again

Vacation is over….. 😦 I definitely could have used another week at the lake, but next month will be here before we know it and we will be off to Ireland!

Joe and I had planned a long run (15 miles) for Friday, but when we woke up in Maine, it was pouring rain. And, we were exhausted from the day/night before in Bar Harbor. Also, I was attacked by a giant whale, so had to recover from that 😉

Since we wouldn’t be able to spend the last day on the boat/lake, we decided to head into town and walk around a bit. We checked out Bob’s Sugar House

They make/sell pure maple syrup and other jams, mustard, sauces, etc..

Then we went to the library to read for a bit (I think Joe took a nap).

We met up with my sister and her kids at the best ice cream place in the entire world – Butterfields!!

I’ve been getting ice cream here every summer since I was 4!

My dad actually created a flavor this summer – Mocha fudge brownie chunks! So, clearly I got a small cup of that and Joe went with Pistachio. Soooo good!

Back home it was play time with these cuties:

we put her to work cleaning the deck..that’s what kids are for, right?

yes, that’s a live lobster on the floor…before we had him for dinner…sorry dude.

After dinner it was one last game, then off to bed!

Even though I’m back home, you can probably expect one or two more Maine posts – I have so many pictures to share 🙂

What’s your favorite way to spend a rainy day?

  1. Somglad you had a nice vacation and too bad it wasn’t longer but Ireland sounds like it’ll be a nice trip too! Welcome home! 🙂 I like to have movie marathons on the couch on rainy days.

  2. Ireland?? Girl, you never told me you were going there. How friggen exciting!! Vacation? or do you have family there??

    • Ya!! I am so excited!!! We are actually going to Ireland for a wedding. A couple of our friends are getting married in a castle and since neither Joe nor I have been there before, we are staying and traveling around for a week!! Can’t wait!
