Off to Maine!!!

Joe and I are on the road!! We are heading up to my family’s lake house in Sebec, Maine. This is us last summer:

out on the boat

My dad and step-mom live there in the summer and then somewhere warmer in the winter now, so this is usually the one time of year I get to see them as well.

Last year we went up over the fourth of July and my Dad did a local 5k race with Joe and I. It was so much fun, I wish we were able to do it again this summer, but there’s always next year!

Our house is right on the lake, but basically surrounded by woods, so we get a lot of wildlife. Last summer, we had eagles nesting in a tree by our dock, and a momma fox with 2 kits who would play like puppies in the yard. Look how cute this little guy is!!!!!

My step-mom said there is a new fox family making appearances in the yard again this year, so I’m really hoping they come around when we’re there.

This visit is also going to be extra exciting because my step-sister and I planned to go at the same time!! Β When we were younger, all my siblings/cousins would go at the same time, which made it so much fun. But since we are all grown up now with jobs and families, we never really get there at the same time.

So…Brandi, her husband Jay, and their 2 sets of boy/girl twins will all be there! I haven’t seen the one set of niece/nephew in over a year and I haven’t even met the most recent set of twins yet!! You can expect a lot of pictures to come!!

There’s no tv up there, but we do have internet, so I will be blogging (probably not as often). However, I will be missing the rest of the Olympics 😦

Do you have any fun trips planned?

What is your all-time favorite vacation?

I hope you have an awesome time and that fox is soooo cute…take pictures if you see some! πŸ™‚ Family vacations are so awesome and memorable…glad everyone is gonna be up there with you. Sounds like a beautiful location. My all-time fav vacation was a family cruise in 2009 around NE Canada and the New England Coast. Growing up my family always went camping each summer which was awesome as well. πŸ™‚ Enjoy yourself!

    • That cruise sounds really cool! Ive never been on a cruise, but have always wanted to. I would also love to take the ferry across from bar harbor to nova scotia. Joe and I may go hiking in acadia one day, so maybe we can fit it in! Have a great weekend!!
